Daily Habit Cost Calculator
See what a small daily habit like coffee or cigarettes costs per week, month, year, and over the years.
Enter what the habit costs each time, how many times a day and days a week you do it, and the number of years, then calculate.
The estimate keeps the price and the frequency fixed; inflation, price changes, and what the money could have earned are not included.
Methodology
Formula or transformation
The weekly cost is the cost each time times the times per day times the days per week; the yearly cost counts 52 weeks, the monthly equivalent is a twelfth of it, and the total multiplies by the whole years.

Rounding policy
Canonical arithmetic retains declared precision before currency display rounding.
The cost each time is multiplied by the times per day and the days per week to get a weekly cost; the year counts 52 weeks, the month is a twelfth of the year, and the total multiplies the year by the number of years.

Worked example
A 2.50 coffee once a day on 5 days a week costs 12.50 a week, about 54.17 a month, 650 a year, and 6,500 over ten years.
Frequently asked questions
Why 52 weeks and not 365 days?
The habit is entered per week (times per day and days per week), so the year is counted as 52 of those weeks; a seven-day habit therefore counts 364 days.
Can I enter half a time per day?
Yes. Times per day accepts decimals, so a habit every other day is 0.5 times per day.
